Following the national strategy of ecological civilization,the environmental compensation artificial beaches construction at coastal harbor shoreline is beneficial for the integrative growth of the harbor and city.Focusing on the theory and technology of the artificial beach engineering,we have made a series of achievements through self-development,including development of the beach morphodynamic theory especially under the coexistence of sand and mud,creation of the innovative numerical and physical modeling technologies,propose of the designing principle for beaches under different sediment environment,and development of a series of regulation scenarios for preventing beach erosion and siltation.The above technologies have been successfully applied to a series of practical beach engineering cases,and obtained significant economic,social and environmental benefits.
