This paper reviews the development process of the dredging industry in China and abroad,especially the hard development history of modern China’s dredging industry.From the perspective of the city industry support,the city spatial development and the city environmental management,this paper expounds the great effect of the modern dredging industry on the social economy and city construction.This paper also elaborates the significant mission of dredging on the sustainable development of city:Better City,Better Life.
