The development of commercial tank farms for liquid chemicals sets forth the following requirements to the supporting piers: more reasonable process design, a greater variety of handling cargoes, and more flexible operation. Based on the engineering experience, we summarize the main factors to be considered in the process design, piping layout design and material selection for the supporting pier of the commercial tank farm for liquid chemicals. We also give the typical process and piping layout of the pier platform which may serve as a reference for the process design of liquid chemical wharves.
