Facing the challenges of super large iron ore vessels to China’s ports, the paper analyzes the current situation of iron ore terminals of China and discusses the challenges of 400 000 DWT vessels to the infrastructure, transportation system and terminal layout of China’s port industry, and puts forward countermeasures including starting the research on the port layout, adjusting the transportation system, improving the management level, and searching for cooperation strategy, etc.
