Although ports in China have developed a lot, most services are still stuck in the traditional cargo transportation and handling, the logistics and service functions have not yet been fully expanded,and the requirements of economic and social development are still lagging behind. Based on the connotation of the transformation of port to the modern service industry, in view of the actual development of China’s ports, this paper puts forward recommendations for the port transformation to the modern service industry from aspects including enhancing and expanding logistics services, and accelerating the construction of the trade platform for bulk commodities.
