This paper introduces the application of British standards for the design of steel pile and ground anchor in new pier in Singapore, lists general design process and relevant codes. Combining with field test data,this paper presents an optimization of the structural design for the ground anchor. Furthermore, practicable design parameters for ground anchor are proposed for the engineering in Singapore.
