A group of prediction models of GM (1,1) with unequal step distance which can predict the ultimate bearing capacity of a single pile are established based on the gray system theory. According to the results of static load test by a engineering example, the ultimate bearing capacity is predicted and compared with the results calculated by relevant codes. The analysis shows that the prediction accuracy can meet the engineering need.
