In order to serve better the construction of Shanghai shipping centre, and form a comprehensive navigation aid system which adapts to the national economy and the development of navigation and sciencetechnology,so as to establish an aquatic “expressway ”which is of high quality and with the characteristics of Shanghai, we analyze the necessity of the optimization of navigation marks in this region proceeding from the actual situation of the existed navigation marks including the irrationality, limitation and insufficiency. With the illustrations of the current situation of navigation marks’arrangement, we propose the ideas on the optimization from such angles as the reasonable layout, equipment modernization, service information and needs hierarchy, to serve as a reference for related departments.
