The design annual navigable ability of Sanbao lock is 8.5 million tons, but the actural lockage quantity is over 30 million tons. The scheme comparison is conducted among the increase of effective dimensions of lock, improvement of waiting conditions and newly construction of locks to search for the way of increasing the lockage capacity.
