The paper mainly introduces the comprehensive throughput capacity of Chinese ports in 2010, the construction and operation of specialized berths during the“Eleventh Five-Year Plan”, such as container, coal, crude oil, iron ore berths, etc. It also analyzes the development and construction problems of China’s coastal ports. Finally, according to the latest development planning, the paper forecasts the future annual cargo throughput of ports, and proposes several views and suggestions on the development and construction of coastal ports.
