Abstract:How to systematically plan and lay out river-sea-rail intermodal transportation organization system of the Pinglu Canal in advance to unlock its river-sea access efficiency has become a key issue to be urgently addressed. On the basis of analyzing the comprehensive transport layout in the canal hinterland, focusing on the adaptability and economic efficiency of transportation organization modes, this paper adopts the multi-scheme techno-economic comparison method to study the technical feasibility and economic rationality of three modes:river-sea intermodal transportation,river-sea-rail intermodal transportation, and river-sea direct transportation. The study proposes that transportation organization for the Pinglu Canal should be dominated by river-sea intermodal transportation, supplemented by river-sea-rail intermodal transportation and river-sea direct transportation, and carries out demonstration and analysis on the transshipment nodes of the three modes. It puts forward suggestions for system construction from three dimensions:accelerating the improvement of the river-sea-rail intermodal transportation infrastructure system, service guarantee system, and information support system, which not only offers technical support to boost the competitive advantages of the Pinglu Canal upon its operation, but also provides technical references and fundamental theoretical support for the rational development of transportation organization systems of other canals and inland waterways in China.
